Below is a rough guide to common motorcycle part chrome plating cost
Prices subject to change without notice. Prices may vary depending on the part design and material, etc.
Note: Previously chrome plated wheels and parts require that we remove the original chrome (chrome stripped) before being chrome plated again (rechromed). (Chrome strip processing time is approximately 3 to 10 business days). Rechroming a wheel or part does not guarantee a perfect wheel or part. Please read the rechrome section of the website. See more info here. Chrome strip charge varies with each wheel and part. We will price you on an individual basis. A concern about chrome stripping a previously chromed motorcycle wheel is the bearing holes, metal races or anything steel attached to the wheel. Part of the chrome strip process is to place the wheel into Nitric acid. Different metals dissolve at different rates. Please remove all seals, bearings, races, tires, valve stems, bolts and anything steel, etc. from the wheels before freighting. We can plug the bearing holes with rubber plugs to prevent acid from entering. However, there is no guarantee that the plugs will not leak. We can remove the plugs during the copper stage to allow material to enter and tighten up the bearing holes. If the bearing holes are tight, you may want to freeze the bearings to contract them and warm the wheel to expand it to help with bearing installation or if the bearing holes are loose, you may need to peen, stake or knurl the bearing holes and/or use 3M bearing and sleeve adhesive or equivalent. What about chrome plating on plastic parts?
Yes! We can chrome plate plastic parts. Adding chrome plating to plastic pieces is a very difficult, time consuming, and costly process to perform. This method utilizes true electroplated chrome, the same as is used on wheels, but through special proprietary prep work, can be deposited onto plastic parts. Examples of chrome plated parts.
