Electroless Chrome Coating is a unique procedure that allows plastic to emulate chrome plated alloy. This procedure is used to create a surface on center caps and other plastic pieces, that closely matches alloy chrome wheel plating.

Once the piece is prepared, it is placed in a highly specialized clean room where the Electroless Chrome Coating is applied. This clean room uses the same air filtering technology used in medical laboratories! The appearance of the resulting piece closely mimics the reflective properties of chrome plated alloy and is ideal for chrome wheel center cap applications, or chrome trim pieces. While similar in appearance to vacuum metallized plastic, an Electroless Chrome Coated piece is much more durable, with a smoother surface. This means the surface is far less likely to chip or scratch as vacuum metalizing. As with any cosmetic finish, care must be taken to keep the finish clean and protect it from the elements.
